Midwives of a Movement
On April 3rd, we are hosting a exclusive viewing of the new documentary Midwives of a Movement: A Story of Challenging Baptist Patriarchy from 5:15-7:00 pm. in Grand Hall and introduced by Dr. Meredith Stone.
Women have not always been welcomed in Baptist ministry leadership and are still being marginalized by current leadership within the Southern Baptist Convention. We have a very special opportunity to reflect on the progress women have made over the past 50 years in Baptist life with the viewing of this new documentary. Come early (5:15 pm) to get your supper as we eat and enjoy this historic account of how Baptist women responded to God’s call to ministry. Dr. Meredith Stone, national Director of Baptist Women in Ministry and a familiar friend of Second B, will be here to introduce and discuss the film.
