Second Baptist Church is committed to the Christian formation
and development of all children. Through Bible stories, music, and activities
especially designed for children in the Sunday School, our children are
nurtured in the Christian faith. Sunday School for all children is held
at 9:30 a.m. Qualified, loving nursery care in clean and properly equipped
facilities is available at all services and special services.

Sunday Mornings
- Bible Study
Our Preschool teachers lay a strong foundation for faith in Christ by
providing a safe, clean, and loving environment where preschoolers can
learn about God while parents are involved in a Bible study with their
peers. We provide age appropriate activities, toys, and equipment to
teach through active play.

Our children in grades 1 – 6 experience Bible lessons
through a variety of learning stations from art to cooking, music, video,
games, storytelling, and science. The children’s area has been transformed
into a first-century environment which allows children to become immersed
in the life and times they are studying.
- Worship
During our 10:45 worship service, children ages 4 and older can participate
in a special Children’s Time which offers a special message just
for kids based on that morning’s worship theme. As the children
are dismissed from Children’s Time, the 4– 5 year olds may
leave the sanctuary to attend Preschool Praise where they are involved
in a Bible story, crafts, and music.
Children under the age of 4 are provided loving care from 8:15 –
11:45 a.m. each Sunday by paid and volunteer workers who are experienced
in the care of very young children. Music and storybooks are abundant
along with age-appropriate toys. The safety of all children in a top
priority at Second Baptist Church . All parents of infants and toddlers
are provided pagers so they can be contacted, if needed, while the
child is in our care. We pray that each child will learn that Second
Baptist Church is a safe and loving place to be.

Special Events
Summer Camp
We attend one of the Southwest's most exciting summer camps during July.
Kids going into the fourth grade through those leaving the sixth grade
are invited to pack their bags and head off with us for a week full of
fun activities with an emphasis on growing in a relationship with Jesus
Christ.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is an exciting time for all our children, ages 4 through 6th grade.
An exciting theme is used to make Bible learning fun through the use of
crafts, music, recreation, and theme-related activities. Call the church
office for dates and times.
